It's a small state, pretty easy for people to drive elsewhere if they want to buy a Tesla. Less tax revenue for the absurd rule state.

Electric cars would hardly be the first production cars that Automakers lose money on. Almost every high quality sport model (Supra, S2000, etc.) is a money losing venture.

Check with your local Tesla store, they should be making test drive reservations soon.

I see what you're saying. I think that it's totally reasonable to expect used car buyers to reference the new "net price" instead of retail price.

The retail "net price" is $25,280 as listed by the author, not $23,995. That's the 90% of retail net price. Net price being after tax credit.

"They don't even hate them enough to care."
So, sufficient hate is how right wing media decides what to give airtime? Pathetic.

One word, education. With Tesla at least this is easily accomplished as they control the information that goes out from every one of their dealerships.
If the credit can be changed to a rebate, that will solve the whole thing. In the mean time, I think the problem is overblown for the vast majority of EV buyers (who are educated on the credit).

There is nothing illegal about the practice.
