200k? I read 600k in the article above. Also, worst "race" ever.

I see from the original article they did indeed get injured. Confused as they identify the vehicle as a 2012.

Escaped without serious injury or without escaping serious injury? There is a difference.

Agree. At the very least see what sort of mileage you can get out of one of these with a direct injection engine. You can get a lot more car with just as good of gas mileage, so buying one isn't Smart, unless parking is at a premium.

The safest way to handle this situation is to not remain in your Volt three weeks after it has been crashed. Please ensure you exit the vehicle within the first week of the crash, rather than remaining in the vehicle. If your Volt has been in a major accident, then I'd suggest caution and having it checked out just like a gasoline powered vehicle.

"...Aptera was faced with an ugly truth: It takes hundreds of millions of dollars, if not $1 billion or more, to develop a properly engineered vehicle that will pass government tests and can be legally be sold new in the United States." Untrue, hence the 3-wheel design, which allowed it to bypass many of the safety tests required of their 4-wheeled cousins.
