Many in Canada use 120V charging to "trickle-charge" and keep the battery warm. In the cold, it will only gain a mile or two an hour on 120V, so it can be left plugged in and warming a long time.

With the tiny mileage you have each day, you'd probably be better served using a 120V charge (or amp-limiting the charging to 5-10A). That way the charging/warming will persist thru the night and you will get true readings plus a warm batt in the a.m.

Suggestion: keep a foil bag in the car, and slip the FOB into it before leaving. Remove from bag to start.
Also, use the new phone app to warm the car before starting out, on "shore power". You will have full regen and accel right from the get-go.

Apparently some fool at Tesla thought the low reading was bogus, and warming would recover the lost range -- and gave really stupid advice.

Take, or make? I'd take a bet from any idiot fool enough to offer one (that they wouldn't make it).

Peter, who is an EE, jury-rigged a Multi-Input EVSE charger to drain two 40-amp connections (common in RV parks and campgrounds) at once. This gives the same charging speed as Tesla's high-power home connector (for cars with dual internal chargers only!). Neat trick!

That's probably Elon Musk's car. He's the only one with the jump seats so far, AFAIK.

There's another dude who put 40,000 miles on his Roadster -- and lost ~5 miles of range. In Alaska. The cold was benign and preservative, it seems!
