One major flaw..
NO LOWERING OF THE PRICE OF THE ELECTRIC CAR..
With Better Place customers buy EV's
at the same price as regular gasoline cars..
WITHOUT Better Place customers buy EV's
at DOUBLE THE PRICE of regular gasoline cars..
That's a MAJOR FLAW that,
range extending of any kind
including battery trailers..
..WILL NEVER SOLVE..

Dear Brian,
In Israel..
The Fluence costs ₪126,000, in Israeli shekels.
What's the starting price for:
The Toyota Corolla 4 door sedan ₪ in Israeli shekels?
The Honda Civic 4 door sedan ₪ in Israeli shekels?
Also just to be clear..
You DIDN'T pay all of the ₪36,000 Israeli shekels for a
four-year subscription to the Better Place package but only
the monthly subscription fee of ₪320 Israeli shekels? Right?
Thanks for any info!

Or because you don't own the battery
you don't worry about the range of your EV
getting shorter and shorter
because of battery degradation.
You just go to a
battery switch station and swap it!

That's why Better Place will take over the world..
Unlimited range now. (Where BSS's are build)
No need to wait 10 years to buy a 300 mile EV that costs
as much as a cheap Toyota Corolla sedan!
Because you buy the EV without the battery
the EV's price is slashed by more than $12,000!!
In Israel:
The Chevrolet Volt costs 200,000 shekels ($52,890)
The Prius Plug-in costs 173,000 shekels ($45,750)
(and the Nissan LEAF is estimated to cost a little more)
vs
The Better Place Renault Fluence ZE costs:122,900 shekels ($32,500)
Plus because you don't own the battery you don't worry that
the resale value of your car will fall dramatically
when new EV's appear with cheaper batteries and longer range.

Level 3 DC fast charging stations.
Only those are in the same category as
fast alternative fueling stations
because it takes around ~20 minutes
to charge an EV at a DC fast charging station.
Although right now there are around 39
DC fast charging stations in the US
according to Blink..
http://www.blinknetwork.com/locator.html
(on top right of map click "Layers" and untick L2)
..Nissan is looking to sell as many as 2,000 DC fast charging stations within the next two years in the US, each costing $9,900 that can be easily installed and adopts the CHAdeMO protocol.
And because Nissan DC fast chargers are so cheap we can expect faster depdeployment than other alternative fueling stations.

That Electric 10,000 stations number is misleading..
Stations with Lever 2 EV chargers
cannot be considered as
alternative fueling stations but
must be renamed to snail fueling stations!
Waiting ~6 hours to charge your EV for ~80 miles
is snail fueling, and cannot be in the same category as
Autogas (Propane), Ethanol, Compressed Natural Gas,
Biodiesel, Hydrogen, Liquefied Natural Gas.
The alternative fueling stations above (except electric)
are fast fueling stations and i doubt that
it takes more than 20 minutes to fill a car at any of them.
Therefore Lever 1 and 2 EV charging stations must be deleted from this list.
The only EV charging stations that are in the same category of the fast alternative fueling stations above are the

Not good:
..do battery swap .. innovation out of China..
see photo!
On June 8, almost two months after a Zotye M300 (Langyue) EV caught fire which prompted the city of Hangzhou to pull all 30 electric taxicabs off the streets..
..battery pack installed in the trunk, .. The stacks are removable, and switched with fresh ones when depleted.
.."In sealing and packing the battery cells, in loading and unloading the battery stacks, insufficient attention had been paid to several safety factors; monitoring procedures had been inefficient or neglected in the process of manufacturing, battery charging/switching, and vehicle driving, failing to detect anomalies,"..

..looking very much like a straightjacket for the consumer in terms of choices (there are none). People generally want to own, not lease..
If leasing with BPlace you get the EV at 1/2 of its price that's actually a good deal.
People generally want to lease, not own! Just take a look at the Smartphone market (iPhones, Androids) The vast majority do a 2 year contract with AT&T, Verizon etc, and get the phone at 1/3 of it's price.

Meanwhile battery technology marched ahead, rendering his concept more and more obsolete..
..There's no Moore's Law for electric cars meaning that lithium-ion battery cells do not double in performance every 18 months, as processor speeds have done..
..Averaged over that time, the rate of performance increase has averaged 6 to 8 percent a year..
The 300 mile battery that costs an additional $2'000 to price of the EV is at least 10 years away. (LEAF's 100 mile batterry costs $18'000)
Better Place is now.
Not only that, Better Place is future proof meaning that the newest cheaper batteries will roll into the BPlace network making the monthly subscription
to BPlace cheaper.
