I still think there's another problem with the LFA that's somewhat price related - in this price range, the Lexus name simply isn't prestigious enough.

@Brian, it's also possible that Lincoln is putting all these configurations in front of customers pre-launch to see what the most popular variants and colors are. If they try to bring the MKZ to market with this many different available builds, I don't see them making money.

@WizardsLore, exactly - less configurations equal more profit. That's one reason why Honda, VW and Hyundai are all doing so well.

@Enzo, manufacturers tried this in the early 1990s; remember "automatic shoulder belts" that still required you to fasten a lap belt? If I remember correctly, some cars wouldn't start unless the lap belt was fastened.

@JC, what teenager listens to his parent, especially when that parent isn't in the car? All the shock films shown in driver's education classes have no impact, either.

@Enzo, that's why track time should be required to get a drivers license. Once you understand the kind of forces generated when things go wrong at speed, you realize that wearing seat belts isn't optional.

@Adalberto, the AMG makes 525 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, while the Caddy puts out 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque.

@Matt, my guess is that Ford got a bad batch of fuel lines from a supplier. Sad to say, but every car is still a collection of parts from the lowest bidder.

@WizardsLore, I don't know. I'm not quite ready to believe Mansory has changed its design philosophy just yet - give it a few more designs and we'll see.
