About Alysha Webb
Alysha is an Old China Hand who has resided in Los Angeles since 2008. Before that, she spent a decade
working as a business journalist in China, and covered China’s emerging auto industry for Detroit-based
Automotive News. Since she already knew China as well as any automotive journalists, and she lived in
California, the throbbing heart of alternative powertrain vehicles, Alysha decided to focus on China and
electric vehicles in her life as a freelance journalist. Besides writing for High Gear Media, Alysha blogs at
www.china-ev.org. Having lived in China for so long, she’s a bit skeptical about Chinese automakers’
chances here in the U.S. but happy to keep writing about it.
Alysha has an M.A. in International Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a M.A. in
China Studies from the University of Washington. She lived in China for a total of nearly 14 years, but is
really happy to be in southern California now where she can frequently indulge in her favorite activity,
riding her road bicycle.
