Drilling for oil is bad enough but fracking is even worse. Natural gas is a temporary solution at best.

A quick charge frying your battery would be a rare event, but a big mechanically operated station breaking down could happen easily. Right now Better Place is keeping a close eye on their stations but they don't have a lot to watch. A larger aging swap network would be prone to problems just like older automated car washes.

Yes I've heard of people doing this, but the problem there is the car owner making a mistake.

Actually the magazine is very balanced, just under the title in bold print it says "We grab a chilly lift in BMW's game-changing i3 and i8" both cars being winter tested. The article was very positive, Top Gear magazine is a well produced magazine that's on par with any other magazine. The article was written by Paul Horrell.

I bought the April edition of Top Gear magazine, the very first thing inside the cover is a huge BMW i3 ad. I bought the magazine because it has an article on the i3 and i8 there is also an article about the Mercedes SLS e-drive in it.

You never can tell what could happen to your car in an older station, swapping stations will need maintenance and if not kept up something could go wrong. Better Place is watching over their few stations, but if swapping was as widespread as gasoline you know you're bound to get a bad swap some day.

I'd rather use the Super Charger, if I drove a Model S to the point it needed a charge I wouldn't need a 3 minute swap I'd need a break. I'd also hate to be far from home and have the swap process damage something on the car ending my trip in a rental car and having to head home early.
