A frequent supplier of insight at Motor Authority, Ryan started his life as a creative designer at General Motors. He left his post, designing future Chevrolets and Cadillacs, to pursue a career in freelance industrial and graphic design. His desire to fill the void in-between jobs delivered him to the world of auto journalism, where he transformed into Jalopnik's The Auto Insider. Ryan has since left Detroit for New York City's greener pastures where he writes for one of the city's top digital agencies.
