The problem is image. The Prius is known as a status symbol the world over, and Honda could not steal that thunder. The Insight is a great car but it was like trying to copy something that was impossible to replicate.
I hope Honda will focus on EVs now and stop messing about with H2 and Hybrids.

Am I the only one thinking that this is a scam? Mini produce crappy EVs, then get people to test them, but actually get people to PAY to test them. Why not select 100 employees and get them to drive the cars and provide professional feedback. It proves to me that BMW don't give a crap about EVs, they will continue to use diesel for the next decade and I hope it comes back to bite them in the a**. I am glad companies like Nissan, Renault, GM and Ford are taking this seriously.

I think the energy giant ENI (Europe's ExxonMobile) might have something to do with this.

I think demand for small vans like this will be big. Consider vans that do deliveries in big cities. They work during the day and charge in the evening, thus reducing costs for companies.

I don't see the problem with rapid chargers, we could have petrol stations install them on highways or the like so that people could get a quick coffee and recharge on their long trips. Imagine charging something like $2 for a charge, the cost would be recouped by the seller in a short time.

Why pay 40k for a BEV when you can get a Range EV for the same price, eliminating the range issue. Evs will have to sell for around 20k otherwise they will be destroyed by PHEVs and Range extenders.

EVNOW the empty can makes the most noise, those who complain about EVs haven't given an alternative, no wait it is hydrogen. ;)
