The WHY of these cars is that SOME of us would like to own a streetable version of this automobile to actually DRIVE! We can't afford five or ten million for an original, IF they ever became available, and as purebred racers, they are a bitch to drive. This replica offers the looks, and if you choose the right engine, the performance of the original, at a reasonable price. (Reasonable as defined by those who buy one, and scoffed at by folks who cannot.) Also, if you want some more streetable options like air conditioning, left-hand drive, and so on, they can be added. Does the Ford GT look like a genuine GT-40? Kinda. Does the Superformance GT-40 look authentic? Yup. 'nuff said.
