Americans do not want hatchbacks period. Incredible, but true.

Sigh. I guess lack of choice is profitable. Here in Canada a hatch would sell briskly, but we are welded to the US market in the eyes of almost every manufacturer.

Don't worry, there will be no interesting and design-forward European-style Renaults etc. here, just some headachey "me too!" sedans from Samsung. Look them up zzzzz.... At least it will ensure that North American roads remain a sea of grey nothingness.

We need another generic large sedan? Why doesn't Suzuki go and claim back its title as the small car expert and sell us the award-winning Swift that is available everywhere else in the world?

I also wonder how they will sell in US - not because I can't stand those minicars, but because I can't stand the truck/lardy sedan obsession in North America. I do not trust consumers to bother with these little cars.

If you ask me, it is not the small cars that wreck these brands' images, it is the frigging SUV/"crossover" crapola they have been peddling lately.
