Commented On: Trio of modified SUVs highlight Brabus’ stand at the Geneva Motor Show

It's pretty impressive from a technical standpoint what Brabus has managed to do but I agree that you'd have to be a complete idiot to buy one.

Commented On: Nissan GT-R sets first recorded time for the ‘world's greatest driving road’

I drove this road last time I was in Dubai. It's every bit as good as the critics make out, but I'm not sure I would classify it as the "world's greatest"

Surely there are better driving roads in Europe? The Stelvio pass comes to mind but I've never been...

Interesting facia on the S2k and Fit. For some reason I thought Mugen was the factory tuning arm of Honda, I've never heard of Modulo, is this new?

as far as I know, Mugen was founded by the son of the guy that founded Honda, but it's not officially Honda's company or tuning brand. They do mostly Honda stuff though. Might want to check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mugen-Honda

But I haven't heard of Modulo before either. Must be really JDM-only.

Commented On: Report: Toyota secretly working on solar car

Maybe that's why he wrote the article as a 'report:'....

It's just a report of what's supposedly being done. If you read the article, you'll see it's all couched in speculative terms.

As for reporting quality, if there were no acceptable way to report rumors or possible developments before there is any hard evidence for them, there would be no preview stories, no pre-release concept stories, no spy-shot stories, etc etc

Be careful what you wish for.....

Commented On: Dyno tests confirm Nissan GT-R drivetrain loss, power ratings

Meh, this dyno stuff is all a bunch of hooey anyway. All that really matters is real-world head-to-head tests, and the GT-R does just fine there.

Man, I hope they get the equipment back or do whatever it takes to get production started...I really would like to get my hands on a V6 'maro. As much power as the Mustang GT, more efficient, and far better looking, imo.

Plus when you get tired of it you could always drop a LS9 crate engine in there....:D

Commented On: Eaton reveals details for hydraulic hybrid system

Motor Authority 2,550 Views 6 comments
ive been suggesting it for a while and its nice to see some one is looking into this. would be great for getting better mileage without adding too much weight. i suspect that to make a similar electric hybrid would result in much more weight in the form of batteries.

even if it were successful, i still think that electric hybrid drive systems would still be better in the long run. much more potential. electric cars have to go to market.

yeah a hydraulic system can only store so much energy before it gets so massive it would make even batteries look light. but for mild hybrids it's better.

and how about a 3-way hybrid? small hydraulic system for regeneration, batteries for the around-towning and a fuel engine for distance? that sounds cool, but probably too complex and expensive i guess
