How about a Mercury competitor to Buick's new Delta? And a wonderfully designed coupe to match.

And since its Christmas, what about a convertible?

This car has perfect positioning, Denton. Where else is there a sporting FWD midsize with a competent chassis in the New GM's lineup? I'm ready for this car to take on the TSX. And that deturned 2.0 turbo some GM exec was talking about.

Oopps - my bad.

Funny how Fords used to be "Fix Or Repair Daily". Odd how companies are able to rectify their past mistakes when their livelihoods are dependent on future products. I have faith in GM, especially when they have a $60B promise to the gov't to make good products.

@ Denton and brum08 - have you been paying attention to what GM is saying about the new Buick? Despite Buick's old(er) demographic that traditional desire a very cushy ride, the brand is now supposed to fill Pontiac's (and to a lesser extent, Saturn's) niche as well. The new Lacrosse was tuned in germany, making it a whole different animal from what we are probably expecting from the brand. Without a doubt I am expecting a somewhat sportier driving experience from Buick's new compact (ala VW Jetta), and if this Motortrend article is correct, a relatively sporty Regal (front-drive GS?), with a less sporty Lacrosse and floating boat-ride from the 2013 Lucerne. I feel like Buick's newer cars are going to blow away existing perceptions about the brand.

Funny that your quoting GM since their ability to follow through is not backed up by history. I doubt Buick will blow anyone away any time in the near future. Buick is stigmatized as a brand for older people who want big cars.

VW tried with the Phaeton. I don't think it will be possible to be sell a 60K car next to a 12K Accent. It will be interesting to watch.

Put the '10 Astra 1.6 turbo - 180 hp engine in it, please. it would be a perfect entry level engine for a delta II Buick, if Buick is still retaining SOME of its germanic tuning.

Screw Koenigsegg, how about Tata? I hope Tata has made a bid for Saab and could realign the automaker into a near-premium and premium auto group of Jag and Land Rover. Am I thinking of a Swedish deja-vu?

I hope Caddy ditches it epsilon II platform for its sub CTS model and capitalizes on these developments down under.
