GM buying Cobasys from Chevron? Chevron bought Cobasys to control and mitigate proliferation of non-oil automotive energy storage in the United States, not to advance it. The price for tax payers would be high, meanwhile the brains there have been fired or idled. Cobasys was troubled by design. However, GE may have a chance like no other to make a strong move into the auto industry.

Alot of energy is absorbed by air resistance. What about Bernoulli tunnels capturing airflow and channeling it through plastic turbines on magnetic spindals? Could this generate enough electric current to offset added air resistance? What if the tunnels opened only when the throttle was released?

Reminds me of the debate that was roused when car radios were first introduced. It was said that a car radio would be a menace to safety becasue of the distraction. Many groups were quite vocal about this. It was later found that when people became used to the radio, they were able to navigate safely.
If you navigate roadways that bicycles, push carts and animals use, you adapt to the possibility. I think it must be quite rare for a person to wait for silence to judge that it is safe to cross a roadway.
I assisted a blind man for a couple of weeks years ago. But that was in the city and the roads were never quiet except late at night. As I remember, he never tried to cross roads alone. I did read a study in University that found that young children living near noisy roadways had more difficulties with language acquisition.

I think big wheels are going out of style. Smaller wheels are racier and the tires and cheeper. Not sure about this trend to bigger rims. But maybe I am missing something.

Inkmaster: It's the relative ugliness. It was so handsome '89-'99 that the Relative damage FefiboBangle-sheiskopf did with the 7, is the greatest.

@judean: Shell Exploration limits the sale of CNG? High pressure tank of that would go a long way I guess. Bypass the refinery. Got to keep doin what we're doin or we would have to change? What are the reasons you can't divulge?
