That's nice, but I wish they would also give some effort to 'fill out" the North American line of Golf and GTI sport sedans. They have stripped them of all the premium equipment to obtain a low base price but have not provided an option list for those buyers who are not paranoid on price. It's ridicules that a car like the GTI is only available with one interior color (cave-like dark gray/black), and no fully auto climate control, for example.

Pity VW didn't also put the Tiguan on a diet. At 1660 kg, it is some 300 kgs heavier than the normal Golf, yet shares its engines. By comparison, the 04 Rav 4 which is about the same size of the Tiguan, is only 1345kg.

I agree I have A Tiguan and a GTI and I knew I was going to feel a difference but damn its heavy. Its still a nice car thou.

I will be getting one. I can't wait to see what it's going to look like.
