You're definitely not the only one who feels that way. I think this segment of the market is waiting for something to come along: sporty, luxurious but still realistic for the non-millionaires, functional, and stylish.

Given the history with the 335d here in the U.S., my hopes for a manual diesel are low, but hey, anything is possible, I guess.

It was public when posted, and is public again. Apparently the video was made private briefly shortly after it was uploaded to YouTube.

Good eye, Dan. On closer inspection, it does appear to be a Savana--though even then, rather modified, particularly at the grille and front end. Sorry for the snap misidentification, and thanks for the correction!

Hahaha Brian, you crack me up. I like the look though--the overall streamlined shape, the vanishing arc of the window line, the taper of the hatch to the bumper. Sure, the cargo area looks like a yacht got too friendly with an E wagon, but it's quirky. There's not enough quirky these days, especially with Saab out of the game.

As you note, it's all in how you measure it. Yes, Tesla has recognized the 5-cycle test would result in about 265 miles range (as I noted here last month: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1076108_tesla-model-s-to-arrive-in-june-deliver-up-to-350-miles-highway-range) but at the same time, it says it can get up to 350 miles highway range--if you hold it to 50 mph constant. The point was made in relation to the 300-mile figure that Tesla has used for nearly as long as the Model S has been publicly acknowledged without having to delve too deeply into the details, which have already been handled.

It does. A good way to tie in heritage with the present and future. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.

And for what it's worth, I think the element of danger is part of what makes the event great. It's one of the last true open road races, like the Mille Miglia, Carrera Panamericana, etc. The riders openly acknowledge the danger and do not discount it. It's part of the experience. I simply addressed it head-on. Sorry if you don't care for the interpretation, but I stand by my take.

If you don't count the ones flown off the island to die, I suppose you may be correct. I am only working with the numbers given to me by people very close to the government and event organization.

Thanks for the details Michael. The eBay listing has ended, so the new avenue of information is welcome.
