About Sue Mead
The Car Connection’s resident expert in off-roading and light trucks, Sue began her automotive career as a freelance evaluator for Four Wheeler magazine in 1988. Today, Ms. Mead travels the globe test-driving cars and trucks, and working as a photojournalist/feature writer for over two dozen publications. She has been an auto editor for CNN/fn and a participating journalist on three Camel Trophy adventures, including the series’ recent trek to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Ms. Mead has also participated in three record-setting adventure drives: the Arctic Circle Challenge ‘95, the Tip to Tip Challenge ‘96, and the TransAmerica Challenge ‘97 and been a co-driver for Rod Hall in the Baja 1000. She recently completed her first book, Monster Trucks and Tractors, published by Chelsea House. She is a member of the International Motor Press Association, the New England Motor Press Association and the North American Car and Truck of the Year Jury.
