About Henny Hemmes
An expert auto veteran, Henny serves as European Bureau Chief of The Car Connection. Besides being one of Europe’s most prolific and well-regarded autowriters, she can boast more than 20 years of experience as race driver, race-instructor and anti-skid instructor. She started racing in 1975, after winning a talent contest in Belgium. A year later she finished second in her first 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. It was to be the first of many podium finishes during her career in long distance racing. She won the Dutch Championship twice (with Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (400 hp) and Ford Merkur Cosworth).
Henny works as test driver, automotive writer and photographer for the Dutch magazine AutoWeek, has her own page in the Dutch lifestyle magazine Living, writes a column in the bi-weekly Automobiel Management and contributes to The Washington Times (AutoWeekend section).
