It feels as good as any of the economy-car leathers that are made of scraps and put together well post-cow. The heat's an issue, admittedly: it's 93 today in Atlanta and the car's interior is a good 10 degrees warmer, sitting outside the garage. We'd rather have cloth but it's not offered; the back seat does get warm with the lack of vents and the wide-open space it offers, but in most climates--north of I-10?--you might not feel it's a real problem for more than a few days at a time.

Maybe you read a different article, Rich, but I gave a few reasons to choose the CR-V instead--but more for the Escape, and we ranked the Escape higher on the numeric scale.

What I'm saying here is Toyota didn't build it in-house -- they farmed it out to a subcontractor. Of course it's a Toyota car, but the conversion was carried out in California.

Tom, to your point, the ATVM loans that underpin most of the EVs on the market now are from an energy bill signed by President Bush.

Completely disagree, Bill. Except on the selling part. It's a cult car.

Sorry Kenneth, but I'm very familiar with first- through fourth-gen Celicas, having driven gen-2 and gen-3 cars for thousands of miles. The Sunchaser may be reliable, but come on--is that the first reason you buy a convertible? Alfa Romeo would never have existed if that were the case.

Larry, while he's entitled to an opinion that is the opposite of mine, he's not getting a free pass when he tries to make the rest of us feel sorry for him, or when he makes a paper-thin apology. I think most of my LGBT friends would agree that there's no "alternative" to living truthfully, peacefully gay, and he could at least respect that.
