Top Gear Fans: Write About Cars and Win Seasons 11 & 12 on DVD Plus Gift Pack
Fresh off the excitement of our 2010 Tesla Roadster Roadtest contest, High Gear Media is announcing a new contest: write about cars and win a chance to win a bunch of seriously cool DVDs and schwag from the popular car show Top Gear.
Here’s the deal: write an article about cars using our open blogging platform between now and midnight PST on Friday, February 5th and earn a chance to win the following:
- Top Gear Seasons 11 & 12 on DVD
- 2010 Top Gear Calendar
- Top Gear mug
- $15 iTunes gift certificate (to buy Season 13 episode downloads!)
If you’re passionate about cars and have opinions, we want to hear from you. Here’s what you do next:
- You submit articles using our open blogging platform that publishes to our 75+ automotive sites between now and February 5th at midnight PST.
- On February 8th, our team will randomly select a published entry as the winner. Simply get your article published and have a chance to win. The more articles you publish between now and 2/5, the more chances you earn to win.
- We ship you the prize winnings, and you camp out in your den to celebrate whilst binging out on Top Gear season box sets.
What kind of articles are we looking for? Here are some tips:
- Write a review of a car you own or an article about how you decided what car to buy
- Give us your take on a new or coming model.
- Compare two cars and give pros and cons
- Write a “How to” or “Tip” article that relates to cars. Example: “How to Find the Best Truck”
- Create Lists. Example: “The Five Best Cars for Families”

All article submissions will be moderated for overall quality as we normally do. When an article is published, you’ll get an email telling you what site it has been published to.

Here’s the trailer for Top Gear, Season 13:
If you’re a car fan and a latecomer to Top Gear, here’s what it’s about:
“Top Gear” takes extraordinary and ordinary cars to the limit and beyond to find out if they’re half as good as manufacturers claim. Full of extreme stunts, challenges, celebrity appearances and weekly features, “Top Gear” is far more than a car show; you’ll find no boring stats or impenetrable conversations about camshafts here. It’s the sharp wit of hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May that make it more than just a motor show.
Season 13 of Top Gear premieres on BBC AMERICA Monday, January 25th at 8/7C. All episodes will be available for iTunes download on Tuesdays, day after broadcast.
And here’s a preview of the coming season:
The world’s biggest car show is back for a 13th series. Hot on the heels of their epic challenge in Vietnam, which saw Jeremy, Richard and James travel the entire length of the country in just eight days, the boys are no less ambitious.. Richard goes to Abu Dhabi to test the new Lambo Murcielago LP640-4 SV; the boys buy three £1,500 rear-drive sports cars and somehow find themselves entered in a terrifying French ice race; film star Sienna Miller, King of Twitter Stephen Fry and chat show host Jay Leno are among the stars taking part in ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ and in a television-first, the mysterious Stig takes off his helmet to reveal just who he really is…
